did you know...

Satan isn't omnipresent. Meaning, he's not like God, who is everywhere all the time. Nope, Satan is pretty limited. I only learnt this recently, which is sad, but i guess it's because I always dismissed Satan from my mind (I used to be scared of him).

After a while that statement got me thinking, "So, a lot of the time, it must be me who's responsible for my sin & mistakes right?".
Right. We tend to blame everything on Satan, which is true, after all he is quite responsible for you know, the Fall of Man. But look at it through this context. If Satan isn't constantly around you all the time, then we, the flesh, have a lot to do with our mistakes. Sometimes we'll go out and be exposed to say, 'naked women' and we'd cover our eyes and be like "It's the attack of Satan blah blah blah he's tempting me" ... but dude, you're in a strip club. What do you make of that? Have you ever found yourself in that position?

We, the flesh, lead ourselves into impossibly tempting circumstances and when we crack we simply push the blame onto someone else. We declare that we are sanctified and holy when really, we're just like the world. Are you set apart? Where you go, what you do, who you're with and who you are are strong influences of making mistakes ... duh! We're born with that stamped on our bottoms.

So why is it so hard to walk up the righteous road? Ahh, because it's difficult, but dang nammit is it worth it!

People are Strange

People are strange,
I cannot understand them.
I had a sweetheart
Who seemed to love me.
I gave her roses, sweets, gems.
I gave her all I had, my heart -
And she broke it.
I cannot forgive her.

God had a world
That should have loved Him.
He gave it beauty, light, and life.
He gave it all He had, His Son,
And it crucified Him.

People are strange,
I cannot understand them.
But God -
He loved them.

splat.

it's pretty much as it says. it's not faith if you're using your head.
why do we keep relying on our senses?
why are we driven by how we feel about certain things?
i see it all the time, people come and thrive when life is 'perfect'.
Then when things seem to fall out of place,
or when a choice arises it's by our human nature that drives us
to seek the comfort and help from friends.
"Greater is he that is within Me, than he that is in the world"
a verse i've memorised other than john 3:16 which 75%
of Christian kids are born with (according to the stats).

last sunday, i heard from a pastor a new kind of christian,
well a new 'term' to define that period before faith and
back-sliding. it's called the 'practical atheist'.
extreme right? i thought so, but that's what we become
when we soak ourselves in carnal culture, rather than God's.
we're all talk and no walk. we lose our integrity and liberty.
we bind ourselves in chains and blindly walk into the
enemies camp. we desire to get a 'feeling' of His presence
through our body and our emotions, and if we don't get that
feeling, a light bulb of doubt switches on, and satan whispers
"He's not there is He?". push comes to shove, your
intentions get off track and you forget what basking is
God's glory is like.

where's your faith at? who do you put most of your trust in?
yourself? your friends? your phone? your Saviour?

Fashionably Designed for Deceit

‘ … I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?”

… And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain… The He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne’

Revelation 5:1-7

We’re broken, and do believe that we’ll continue to be in the state of brokenness unless we look at ourselves in the mirror and see how far we are from ever coming close to contentment. The sad wonder is that in our brokenness we tend to deny our hurt (which is often the defensive state of vulnerability) by ‘clothing’ ourselves with a coat fashionably designed by Busyness, the stylish sunglasses made by Ministry or maybe foundation makeup by the professionals from Smiles. Although, who are we fooling? As the saying goes, ‘appearance is deceiving’ that is often true but yet not easily recognised but… The fact that makes yourself so recognizably broken is the way that you walk, the way that you talk, and the way that you see. Concealing a sprained ankle is easy in order to evade attention when you are at a halt, but when you live your daily life – people will ask why you walk with a limp.

Redemption, in no doubt, can only and truly be done by Jesus Christ. Let it be defined: redemption – redeem – to be healed – to be given new strength – to be bought back – to be given new mindset – to be given a clean slate – to be made WHOLE.

The scripture of the worthy Lamb to take the scroll is Christ at His best. John cries, as do we, when our life seems to have no answers or breakthrough, we sit and sulk because it seems like nothing is going our way. Who!? Or what!? More like it can bring us out of this mess we’ve created!? And the sad wonder is that believers of Christ forget where the answer comes from. The ‘should’s’ bring religiosity and leads us to a dead belief as well as the superficial relationship that we gain with God through music, prayer, and fellowship. As the scripture says, ‘in the midst…’ in the midst of those acts of worship, we can lose sight of Him. In the midst of the four corners of church, the midst of singing songs in a congregation, in the midst of fellowship with fellow believers, in the midst of the disciplines – we can lose Christ.

So do we continue wrapping ourselves with deceit in order to avoid exposing ourselves or we can be like the apostle Paul that he made boasting of his trials as to glorify God as the central focus of his ministry? Christ is magnified in our brokenness because the slain looking Lamb became that state because of our sins. Pass the physical things or dogma of legalism and look earnestly for something tangible, which are our faults found on Christ so that REDEMPTION can take place.

On a note… you are forgiven and loved and for freedom He has come.

1 John 4:4

"Little children, you are from God and have overcome them,
for He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world."

Sometimes we forget about just how great our God really is. And some of us have reached a point where we've become agnostic, or even have denounced our belief. Only because we're too stubborn to realise we're the ones at fault.
Recently I've found that without His guidance, I cannot function. I'm notorious within my family for my attitude, I'm lazy, I become aimless and I'm definitely not a morning person. I begin to ponder on whether or not life is for or against me, and after hours and hours of self induced chaos, I receive the same revelation over and over again, that this life is not for my own gain. My body is not for my pleasure, my life is not for my own choosing - they're God's.

Who are we to believe that we're too busy to serve? Who are we to think we're better off without him? Who are we to think that we need to be like the world in order to be accepted? Our perception of life can be so off track.
Enter in the unconventionals... We're hoping to slap you in the face and get you guys to WAKE UP! We want to encourage two-faced, struggling Christians that "Hey! There is in fact more pleasure in His presence than in changing yourself to suit others" we want to encourage you to step out of your confined space of just believing and start living out God's purposes in you. You're destined for such.
